The first snow-covered morning of the season resulted in a rather slippery commute for drivers across Mid-Michigan.
Old man winter came back with a vengeance Wednesday, dumping 6-8 inches of snow in parts of the state throughout the day.
Numerous slide-offs had local tow companies busy Tuesday night following the first significant snowfall of the season. MDOT Is reminding drivers to take it slow and allow plenty of time to get to your destination, and to drive as conditions warrant.
Michigan Department of Transportation snow plow drivers will be working overtime. The decision to extend their shifts from eight hours to 12 hours was made early during storm preparations.
