Amy Hybels moves to Flint from Kalamazoo, Michigan where she spent the past two years working for WWMT as a reporter and special projects producer.

Amy Hybels moves to Flint from Kalamazoo, Michigan where she spent the past two years working for WWMT as a reporter and special projects producer. Before moving back to her home state of Michigan, she spent five years in the Middle East working as a freelance journalist. She covered the Arab Spring as a one-man band for CNN International out of Jordan. She also made numerous trips to the Za’atari Refugee Camp in Mafraq, interviewing Syrian women to produce an in-depth report on maternal health issues for APTN out of London.

Before moving to the Middle East, Amy spent eight years in Washington, DC working as a reporter for WTOP Radio and a reporter /weather anchor for Newschannel 8 in Virginia. She covered the historic Bush V. Gore decision and hunt for missing Congressional intern Chandra Levy. She also had the opportunity to work on Capitol Hill as a press secretary for a U.S. Senator. Amy earned her MA in journalism from Regent University in Virginia Beach where she also reported for WVEC TV in Norfolk, Virginia.
