Court hearing resumes for chief medical officer accused in water emergency

FLINT (WJRT) - (11-06-2017) - The state's chief medical officer was back in court Monday morning in Flint.

Dr. Eden Wells is facing charges including involuntary manslaughter and misconduct in office tied to the city's water emergency.

The preliminary hearing for Wells was delayed last month after the state announced in court she was being charged in a Legionnaires' death.

Lawyers for Wells say she shouldn't be charged in connection with the death because she did not take over her post until a month before the victim died. Her defense says there was no way she could have prevented it.
