IOSCO COUNTY (WJRT) (9/11/2018) - A man is in custody in connection with the murder of his wife in Iosco County.
The body of 55-year-old Gina McCauley was found in her Grant Township kitchen on Saturday. Police say she was stabbed to death in what investigators describe as a domestic dispute with her husband.
Jerry McCauley, 57, was arraigned Tuesday on a charge of open murder. He remained in the Iosco County Jail after the hearing with no bond.
The McCauleys' son called Iosco County 911 around 9:40 p.m. Saturday after finding Gina's body on the kitchen floor of their residence in the 100 block of Pioneer Street off of M-55, just west of Tawas City.
The Michigan State Police Crime Lab spent Saturday evening into Sunday morning searching for evidence at the home.
Investigators quickly zeroed in on Jerry McCauley as a person of interest in the case. He asked for an attorney and declined an interview with detectives when they contacted him.
