SAGINAW (WJRT) (2/27/2018) - A former employee of the Michigan Cardiovascular Institute has pleaded guilty to embezzlement.
Marcia Conaway, 70, was accused of stealing about $467,000 from the facility beginning in June 2010 until her retirement last February.
On Tuesday, she pleaded guilty to one count of embezzlement of more than $100,000. She is expected to be sentenced next month.
Investigators claim Conaway used the institute's funds to pay off personal purchases on her personal credit cards. Prosecutors also allege she falsified the company's accounting records by withholding revenue to cover up the missing funds.
