You never know what’s around the corner. About six weeks ago, I woke up with a swollen eye lid. Initially, I thought it was some sort of temporary “sleepy eye” condition. Boy, was I wrong. It is temporary, but it’s a more complicated health challenge. My doctors (yes, I now have more than one) are pretty certain that they have identified the issue and are treating me appropriately. I am so very grateful.
Thank you all for your prayers, concerns, calls to the station, emails, and Facebook inbox messages. I can’t tell you how much it warms my heart knowing that just as much as I miss being in your homes everyday, that many of you are missing me too.
Unfortunately, most things don’t go away as quickly as they come. That seems to be the case with my eye. However, my doctors are optimistic that I will be able to return to work the first of the year.
I am a person of Great Faith. I believe God is answering my prayers for total healing and restoration. I look forward to my return to the anchor desk of ABC12. I plan to greet you in the new year with a smile: fully refreshed, restored and renewed. Please continue to keep me in your thoughts and prayers.
May you and your family have a wonderful Christmas season and New Year.
