FRANKENMUTH (WJRT) - (08/12/17) - Giving while golfing. A year and a half after the passing of a beloved Clio area coach, his life is still impacting students through a scholarship fund.

The second annual Coach Hibbard Golf Outing was held Saturday morning at Fortress in Frankenmuth.

"The relationships TIm formed with our student athletes was the same relationships he formed with me and my family," explained Clio High School Principal Lisa Taylor. "You know, he was the guy that...he always made you smile, had a great sense of humor, related well to the kids, and just absolutely loved being around kids."

Timothy, better known as Coach Hibb, died in March of 2016 at age 54.

Coach Hibb's wife, Terri, organizes the event. "In honor of his legacy we want to continue the giving but just on a larger scale," Terri said.

Between T-shirt sales and last year's outing, Terris says the Timothy Hibbard Memorial Scholarship Fund has given away more than $6,000 dollars in scholarships to Clio High School senior athletes.
