April blast of snow creates a rough early morning commute in Bay County

PINCONNING (WJRT) (04/16/18)--Mid-Michigan's latest blast of spring snow and ice didn't do much to slow down the Monday morning commute along I-75 in both Saginaw and Bay Counties.

"So far, so good. County has the roads in pretty good shape," said Linwood resident John Forro.

The biggest concern for drivers was actually over the fog.

"Heading to Bay City. It's about an hour drive, but it'll take me longer this morning," said Sterling resident Patrick Pickvat.

Away from the expressways, snow and ice was more apparent with plenty of black of ice and slippery patches on streets surrounding M-13.

"When I hit 7 Mile at the overpass, it was really good, but at the other side it's not so much. On the other side of 11 Mile on Pinconning road, not so much," said Rhodes resident Kayleen Ballard

While Ballard wasn't thrilled by this Arpil round of wintry weather, she chalked it up to just typical life in the Mitten.

"I've seen hale in July, so it's alright," said Ballard.
