FLINT (WJRT) (10/18/2017) - About half of the workforce at Automotive Component Carrier Inc. in Flint and Lansing will be eliminated soon after the company lost a contract.
The business, which is owned by Detroit businessman Roger Penske, announced in a letter to the Michigan Department of Workforce Development last week that it lost a contract to haul parts for General Motors.
As a result, about 60 out of 155 jobs at terminals in Flint and Lansing will be eliminated. The layoffs will be completed sometime before Dec. 31, according to the letter.
The Flint terminal is located at G2051 W. Bristol Road while the Lansing terminal is located on Millet Highway.
