FLINT (WJRT) (12/7/17) Back to the Bricks has a lot planned in 2018.

There will be a car show in February and a promotional tour in June.

Organizers are very excited about what's going to be happening in 2018.

The first event on the Back to the Bricks calendar is Chrome and Ice.
That's the indoor car show held at the Dort Federal Event Center. This year's date is Feb. 9 and 10.

"This year we want to have fun. We want it to be a good time for everybody to get together, car guys to get together in February and look at our cars and talk," said Steve Hobson, Back to the Bricks Chrome and Ice organizer.

There could be as many as 125 beautiful cars on display in both arenas, the mezzanine and the lobby. Forty vendors are expected.

"People tend to just hibernate, unfortunately, in the wintertime and complain it's too cold ... The events will bring people out, they get to interact with other people which is good for us in so many way," said Dave Lorenz of Travel Michigan.

The other event the Back to the Bricks people are excited about is the ninth annual promo tour. It's going to be June 8 through the 13. That's where several car lovers travel in a group around the state to drum up interest in Back to the Bricks in Flint in August.

They're calling the 2018 tour the Mighty Mac and Back. The group will travel to Mt. Pleasant, Gaylord, Petoskey and St. Ignace.

"We're going over the Bridge. We're going to take a '57 and a few other cars over the bridge and a few Model As as well," said Pete Cimbala, Back to the Bricks 2018 promo tour.

After St. Ignace, they'll stop in Tawas and wrap things up at the Birch Run Speedway.

"You really are talking about millions of dollars in economic impact," said Lorenz.
