CLARE COUNTY (WJRT) (9/13/2018) - A Clare County man who threatened to kill himself or force police to shoot him was arrested without injury after a standoff.

The incident unfolded Monday afternoon in the 9000 block of Davey Street in Clare County's Garfield Township.

Ronald Moore, 52, allegedly got into an argument with a woman who lives in his home and fired a pistol indoors. She fled the residence and called police.

Moore was barricaded inside when officers from the Clare County Sheriff's Office arrived around 4:20 p.m. Police tried contacting him inside the residence several times to negotiate his surrender.

Moore ended up coming outside with a 9mm pistol in his hand. He threatened to shoot himself or force police to shoot him, but eventually gave up the gun.

Police arrested him without injury.

Moore was arraigned Wednesday on charges of discharging a firearm in a building, two counts of assaulting a prison employee, assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a weapon while intoxicated, domestic violence and two counts of committed a felony while armed.

He remained in custody Thursday at the Clare County Jail on $70,000 bond.
