Bay County teens require surgery for injuries sustained breaking out of juvenile home

BAY COUNTY (WJRT) (3/5/2018) - Two Bay County teenagers were injured as they broke out of the county's juvenile home.

Police say at around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, the two 16-year-olds assaulted staff and were breaking windows at the home at the corner of Knight and Hampton roads.

They broke out a window and were able to climb out. They started to run east on Hampton Road, where deputies were able to catch up with them.

Both teens were badly injured and had to have surgery.

The Bay County Prosecutor's Office is reviewing the case for possible criminal charges.
