BRIDGEPORT TOWNSHIP (WJRT) (2/18/2018) - Alcohol may have been a factor in a head-on crash early Friday that left a Carrollton Township man in critical condition, police say.
The 61-year-old was driving a 2003 GMC Yukon east on Junction Road just west of Reimer Road when he crossed the center line and slammed head-on into a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado.
The Carrollton Township man was pinned inside the Yukon and had to be extricated by the Bridgeport Fire Department. He was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw, where he was listed in critical condition Sunday.
The 23-year-old Frankenmuth man driving the Silverado was treated for minor injuries at St. Mary's and released later on Friday.
Investigators from the Bridgeport Township Police Department believe the Carrollton Township man may have been drunk when the crash occurred. Once the investigation is complete, it will be forwarded to the Saginaw County Prosecutor’s Office for review and possible charges.
