Clothing retailer H&M opening Genesee Valley Center store on Nov. 2

FLINT TOWNSHIP (WJRT) (10/19/2017) - Worldwide clothing retailer H&M is opening its 18th Michigan location on Nov. 2 in the Genesee Valley Center shopping mall.

The 23,000-square-foot store will offer clothing for ladies and men, along with a separate store within the store offering accessories. The store also will offer the H&M Kids collection geared toward newborns to 14 year olds.

The first 200 shoppers in line at the Genesee Valley Center at noon on Nov. 2 will receive an H&M Access to Fashion Pass, which is valued at $10 to $300. Other surprise deals will be available on the opening day.

H&M also is known for its garment recycling program, which collected more than 2 million pounds of unwanted clothing in 2016. Customers who provide some clothes to be recycled on opening day can also enter to win a gift card from $50 to $250.

The store will employ about 20 people. Anyone interested in a job can visit career.hm.com. A department manager position was available on Thursday afternoon.

Business hours will be the same as the mall: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays.
