CLARE (WJRT) (1/31/2018) - Comb-over cookies from a Clare bakery were a hit at Tuesday evening's State of the Union address.
Midland Republican John Moolenaar invited Cops & Doughnuts owner Greg Rynearson as his guest for the address. In eight years, nine police officers have seen their dream grow from one bakery to five locations across the state.
Rynearson used his appearance to show how he's just one example of the American Dream.
"We just want to pass along that the American Dream is alive," he said. "With a lot of hard work, you can grow a business still. Entrepreneurship is out there, you've just got to put the effort in."
To mark the special occasion, Rynearson even brought along special comb-over cookies, which are modeled after the president's signature coif.
He respects Donald Trump as a businessman and wanted to pay tribute with the cookies.
