DAVISON (WJRT) (9/13/2018) - Two Davison school crossing guards escaped serious injuries after a pair of hit-and-run accidents in front of children this week.

A crossing guard got hit at M-15 and Clark Street while helping students cross on their way home Wednesday afternoon. Another crossing guard got hit at Clark and Main streets Thursday morning helping students get to school.

Davison Community Schools says the drivers involved in both accidents fled the scene. Both crossing guards are expected to recover fully.

The Davison City Police Department, which employs the crossing guards, was still investigating both accidents Thursday afternoon. Officers plan to step up patrols in the area to help keep everyone safe.

School administrators asked motorists to be extra careful while driving through school zones and driving around school buses, especially as sunrise comes later and the morning commute happens in the dark.
