ESSEXVILLE (WJRT) (11/03/2017) - Essexville-Hampton Public Schools were in "secure mode" all day Friday after administrators became aware of a threat against a school late Thursday.
Administrators did not discuss the nature or contents of the threat in a Facebook post announcing the restrictions. Police who were investigating the threat have said there is no danger to students.
However, all buildings in the Bay County district will be in "secure mode" for the day on Friday as a precaution. The decision was made in consultation with the Essexville Police Department.
The security measures mean students will remain indoors all day, but normal classes and educational activities will continue as scheduled.
"Student safety remains our top priority," administrators wrote in the Facebook post.
