FLINT (WJRT) - (03/07/17) - A competition designed to draw out Flint's future chefs was held Tuesday evening and a fourth grader took home the grand prize.
Arrilya Brown was named the champion of the 3rd Annual Future Chef Competition for dreaming up a mean bacon and brown rice sandwich.
The fourth grader from Eisenhower Elementary was one of nine pint sized iron chefs competing and representing each of Flint's elementary schools.
The nationwide SodexoMAGIC campaign invites students K-6 to face-off and helps cook up an appreciation for culinary arts.
Arrilya took home a giant gift basket full of cooking utensils, a chef's hat and coat.
She'll also get the chance to tour Flint schools and see her recipe prepared for her classmates.
