Flint mayor invited to Washington, D.C., to talk about aging infrastructure

FLINT (WJRT) (10/18/17) - Mayor Weaver wrote the White House over concerns about aging water infrastructure and they've answered her call to action.

She's been invited to Washington, D.C., on Thursday.

The move is in response to her open letter to the mayor of San Juan after Hurricane Maria about the need to pay more attention to urban communities there and here in mid-Michigan.

Weaver says she's encouraged by the invitation saying, "water systems across the county are old and at risk of falling apart at any moment."

She wants to fix what happened in Flint and prevent it from happening somewhere else.
