Flushing student questioned by stranger at bus stop Wednesday afternoon

FLUSHING (WJRT) (10/5/2017) - A Flushing Community Schools student raised concerns Wednesday after he was questioned by a suspicious man at a bus stop after school.

The Mt. Morris Township Police Department reported the incident to Flushing school administrators on Thursday. They, in turn, published a notice on the district's website warning of the suspicious interaction.

The student told police a black man with a gray beard pulled up to a bus stop near Linden Road and Pasadena Avenue in a black Lexus with tinted windows around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday and started asking questions.

The district's notice says the student believed the questioning was suspicious and walked away from the bus stop to tell an adult.

The district's post says it was shared "out of extreme caution." Administrators used the incident as another reminder for students to report anything that doesn't look right to an adult or someone in authority as soon as possible.

Several police agencies around Mid-Michigan have taken similar reports of children having suspicious interactions with strangers. No children have reported being abducted, however.
