FLINT (WJRT) (2/15/2018) - Thursday afternoon was busier than normal at Bishop International Airport in Flint due to fog around Metro Detroit.
Six commercial airliners were diverted to Bishop because foggy conditions at Detroit Metro Airport caused a slowdown in takeoffs and landings.
The planes were in the holding pattern around Detroit Metro until their fuel levels reached an unsafe level. They had to land in Flint and refuel before continuing their flights.
Passengers remained onboard while the jets sat on the tarmac after refueling to wait for an opening to land at Detroit Metro.
