FLINT (WJRT) - (01/06/17) - Some residents in Flint are enjoying a more nutritious dinner Friday thanks to volunteers at My Brothers Keeper.

Baked beans, cereal and fresh vegetables like carrots and potatoes were handed out as part of a plan to limit the effects of lead exposure.

The mobile food pantry began in February and has delivered more than two million pounds of food already.

Dozens braved the blistering temperatures to help give out foods rich in calcium, vitamin C and iron.

The next giveaway will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Faith Gospel Temple on Kent Street in Flint.
