FLINT (WJRT) - (02/19/18) - Workers at General Motor's Flint Assembly Plant will have some extended time off this summer.

Instead of the usual two week shutdown in July, workers will be off for four weeks.

GM will use the extra two weeks to make upgrades to equipment in the assembly area.

The factory currently builds the GMC Sierra, and two versions of the Chevy Silverado.

The shutdown will affect over three thousand workers.
