ADDISON TOWNSHIP (WJRT) (2/18/2018) - A Goodrich woman died and her husband was seriously injured after their Ford Fiesta was involved in a head-on crash in Oakland County just after midnight on Sunday.

Around 12:30 a.m., a 60-year-old Goodrich man was driving the 2013 Fiesta with a 57-year-old woman as a passenger west on Lakeville Road near Hosner Road in Addison Township.

A 2013 Ford Edge traveling east on Lakeville Road crossed the center line and slammed into the Fiesta head-on, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office. A 1993 Buick LeSabre then hit the Fiesta, which was partially blocking the roadway.

The Goodrich couple was pinned in the Fiesta and had to be extricated by the Addison Township Fire Department. The Ford Edge caught fire, but the driver was able to get out safely before rescue crews arrived.

The Goodrich woman was taken to Ascension-Crittenton Hospital and then airlifted to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital in critical condition. She died from her injuries Sunday morning.

The Goodrich man was taken to McLaren-Oakland Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition on Sunday.

The 36-year-old St. Clair man driving the Ford Edge declined medical treatment at the scene, but police transported him to McLaren-Oakland Hospital for a voluntary blood draw. He was later taken to the Oakland County Jail on charges of suspected drunken driving.

No criminal charges had been filed Sunday while police awaited results of the blood draw.

The 25-year-old Oxford Township man driving the LeSabre complained of minor injuries.
