FLINT (WJRT) - (03/12/18) - It's an all out battle of the bands.

Flint-born band Grand Funk Railroad says former front man Mark Farner violated an injunction that limited his use of the band's name.

Founding members Don Brewer and Mel Schacher continue to tour as Grand Funk Railroad while Farner tours as a solo artist.

The suit claims Farner violated a 2004 permanent injunction that limited his use of his former band's trademarks in promotional materials.

Farner left the band in 1983 for a solo career, returned in the mid-1990s then left for good in 1998.
