FLINT (WJRT) (10/2/2017) - A groundbreaking ceremony is planned for Monday afternoon at the old Buick City site.

Lear Corp.'s new plant will create hundreds of jobs making seats for Flint-built General Motors pickups. The site was picked over a location in Mexico.

The private groundbreaking is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. on part of the former Buick City property on East Hamilton Road.

Preliminary work on the 100,000-square-foot facility began in mid-September. The plant should be up and running in 2018.
