FLINT (WJRT) (2/28/2018) - Huntington Bank's chief investment officer offered rosy outlook for the Flint and Genesee County's economy on Tuesday.
Huntington National Bank held a breakfast gathering at the Flint Institute of Arts, featuring a visit by John Augustine. He's optimistic that finances will improve throughout the region in the coming months.
Augustine said the new tax bill and an increase in auto sales could spark some much needed growth and potentially lead to bigger things.
"We need business openings. We need business diversity. We need businesses coming into the region, coming up north on (U.S.) 23 towards us," he said. "That's the action we need."
Augustine said attracting exporting and small manufacturing businesses to Mid-Michigan could make the difference in boosting the economy.
