GRATIOT COUNTY (WJRT) - (3/13/2018) - UPDATE: Police have identified the body. His name was not immediately released so the family could be notified.

(03/12/18) - Tattoos on the body found by hunters in Gratiot County could be the clue that helps investigators break the mystery of who it is and how they got there.

The body was found in what appeared to be a large garbage bag in the ditch on Warner Road near Olive Road in Seville Township.

We now know it's that of a man in his 60s or 70s.

The Gratiot County Sheriff's Office is sharing two photos of tattoos on the victim in hopes someone can help identify him.

On his left shoulder, a skull wearing a cowboy hat and handkerchief. The chain link border also includes the names of three states: "Texas, Florida and Michigan."

On his right shoulder, an eagle mid-flight with its talons out.

Investigators say the man also may have had a recent injury on his left hand because his middle and ring fingers taped together.

Call the Gratiot County Sheriff's Office at 989-875-5214 if you can help identify him.

The body was transported to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing for an autopsy.
