IMLAY CITY (WJRT) - (11/04/17) - A bizarre sequence of events for a Mid-Michigan family adds a new member into their home.
After hearing meowing coming from her car engine, an Imlay City mom found a young kitten.
"We tried, tuna, fish, salami and a heat lamp and a broom handle and once we finally saw her we reached down in there," said Jamie Ward.
This kitten used one of her nine lives after surviving being stuck in a car engine for majority of a day. Jamie Ward had driven from Imlay City to Burton on Nov. 1.
"It was a couple hours later and I didn't hear it anymore and I couldn't see her anymore so I thought she had finally gotten out," Jamie Ward said. "I worked an eight hour shift went to leave for the day and I heard a little meow coming from the engine compartment and that's when I realized she was still in there."
The family named her Furiosa after the character from "Mad Max: Fury Road".
In the movie, Furiosa drives a monstrous of a truck.
It only seemed fitting to name the kitten after her.
"At first I was quit hesitant. I'm not much of a cat fan, but she has grown on us immensely," said Jeremy Ward.
