FENTON (WJRT) - (01/11/17) - It's a week of soccer at the Sports Lab in Fenton, with a goal of supporting the Area 13 Special Olympics.

The Nationals travel youth soccer program is behind the effort.

Sunday night, the organization will host a free youth clinic.

Everyone's invited out to learn some skills and join the Special Olympians for a scrimmage.

Proceeds will help send athletes, coaches and chaperones to Traverse City for the Michigan Special Olympics Winter Games at the end of the month.

"Sunday night is going to be huge. We're going to have all of our players from Nationals, anyone in the community that wants to come on board, being with the Special Olympics kids. This is a unique and special opportunity,” said Kelly Haapala, communications director for Nationals Soccer.

The clinic runs from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday.
