SWARTZ CREEK (WJRT) - (10/11/17) - In a historic move, the Boy Scouts of America will soon welcome girls into some of their programs.
The organization says it comes after years of receiving requests from families and girls to join.
The Boy Scouts of America says "Families today are busier and more diverse than ever. Most are dual-earners and there are more single-parent households than ever before, making convenient programs that serve the whole family more appealing."
ABC12's Cheri Hardmon has a unique perspective about the Boys Scouts organization and the role it plays in a mid-Michigan family's life.
