Man who drove Saginaw 14-year-old to Wisconsin gets nearly 11 years in prison

SAGINAW (WJRT) (11/06/2017) - A man who pleaded guilty to driving a 14-year-old Saginaw girl to his home in Wisconsin has been sentenced to more than 10 years in prison.

James Werner drove to Saginaw in April to pick up the girl after two had been communicating on a website. Police found Werner and the girl at his Wisconsin apartment a week after she had left her Saginaw home.

He pleaded guilty to federal charges of transportation of a minor to engage in criminal sexual activity.

Werner was sentenced to 130 months in federal prison, five years of probation and must pay restitution of $50,000.
