Merrill school bus involved in accident after steering component fails

TUSCOLA COUNTY (WJRT) - (05/19/17) - The steering wheel on a Merrill School District bus went out Thursday night while the bus was in Tuscola County.

Sheriff's deputies say the 50-year-old bus driver told them she lost steering while headed west on Fairgrove Road.

The bus hit a mailbox and a no passing sign.

Several children were on board, but nobody was hurt.

Investigators found a steering component on the bus had failed.
