Mid-Michigan sheriff's department remembering one of their own

LAPEER (WJRT) - (08/16/17) - The Lapeer County Sheriff's Department took to their Facebook page to announce the loss of one of their own.

Jeff Brooks known as Bubba died Tuesday night.

The post describes him as a "true dedicated hero" with a heart of gold and contagious laugh.

According to his obituary, Brooks spent over 30 years in law enforcement, retiring as a Lapeer County Sheriff’s Deputy in 2013 after 27 years.

Most recently, Jeff was employed with the Imlay City Police Department as a member of the Dive Team and the Marine Division.

Visitation will be held Thursday Muir Brothers in Lapeer from 4 - 8 p.m. and again Friday 10-11 a.m. The funeral will follow with a uniform walk-through.
