FLINT (WJRT) (11/14/2017) - Motorists have one fewer option to cross the Flint River in the city of Flint.
The Mill Road bridge has been closed until further notice after engineers deemed the structure's deck and support beams inadequate to continue carrying traffic.
The Genesee County Road Commission hopes to replace the span between Beecher and Flushing roads sometime next year if it can obtain $2 million to pay for the project.
Until then, no vehicles will be allowed to cross the bridge. Possible detour routes include Linden Road to the west and Ballenger Highway to the east.
