SAGINAW (WJRT) (2/23/2018) - An FBI investigation into corruption in college basketball names the mother of MSU's Miles Bridges.
The latest allegation came out in a report by Yahoo Sports. The FBI is looking at at least 20 Division 1 NCAA men's basketball programs and more than 25 players.
On Friday, the mother of Bridges, a Flint native, is named as part of that investigation.
Documents in that report include receipts by Christian Dawkins, who is the business manager for a sports agent. They include a lunch at the Redwood Lodge for $70 and a $400 ATM withdrawal listed as an advance for "Miles Bridges Mom."
The report doesn't allege any direct payment to Miles Bridges.
Dawkins, who is the son of former Saginaw High School head coach Lou Dawkins, has been charged by the U.S. Attorney's Office with three counts of wire fraud and one count of money-laundering conspiracy.
He's accused of providing everything from basic meals to tens of thousands of dollars for either the players or their family members.
Michigan State athletic officials and Bridges had not commented on the report Friday morning.
The NCAA responded late this morning releasing a statement saying, "These allegations, if true, point to systematic failures that must be fixed and fixed now if we want college sports in America."
Several other NBA players with ties to Mid-Michigan, including Kyle Kuzma and Monte Morris, are also named in this latest report.
