FENTON (WJRT) (5/15/2018) - Fenton is on high alert after a possible case of stranger danger Monday morning.
A Tomek-Eastern Elementary School student was waiting for the bus in her driveway when a red truck with a black tailgate drove by her a number of times.
She got scared and went back into her house. Once inside, the girl said the truck pulled into her driveway and idled for 10 minutes -- all while the driver was pointing at her.
The girl called her parents, who notified police.
Officials say the young girl did everything right and an investigation is under way.
"This is a good reminder that we should be talking with our students about awareness and safety," said Fenton Area Public Schools Superintendent Adam Hartley. "The student chose to do the right thing by going back to her house and notifying her parents."
The district is asking parents to talk with their children about being aware of their surroundings.
