MUNDY TOWNSHIP (WJRT) (3/23/2018) - Work is expected to begin next week on a new bridge carrying Grand Blanc Road traffic over Swartz Creek in Mundy Township.
The bridge located just east of U.S. 23 was closed earlier this month after an inspection found part of the substructure was failing.
The Genesee County Road Commission said new steel supports should be delivered soon. Construction should begin next week and the repairs should be completed by April 20, depending on weather.
Until then, Grand Blanc Road is closed from Fenton Road to U.S. 23. A posted detour on Fenton, Hill and Torrey roads and remains in place.
