FLINT (WJRT) - (08/18/16) - It's time to put the pedal to the metal - we're getting ready for another big rolling cruise Thursday at Back to the Bricks.
The Sonic Cruisers Club members were already out on the streets early Thursday morning.
It's a family-based car club that brings together fathers and sons, grandkids and grandparents and of course, husbands and wives.
They own some of the biggest cars on the Bricks this week - and when we say "big," we mean it. We're talking about those old boat-sized Buicks, Chevys and Oldsmobiles of the ‘70s.
"A bunch of guys and one lonely lady who go up to Sonic and we decided to go up there and bring something back to Flint and bring the community back up,” said Patty Williams, Sonic Cruisers member.
Throughout the summer, the Sonic Cruisers typically get together for Friday night cruises at the Sonic restaurant on Miller Road.
Leaving Back to the Bricks Thursday night might be a little tough for some drivers.
The northbound and southbound ramps of I-475 to westbound I-69 will be shut down at 8 p.m.
The ramps are being resurfaced overnight and should re-open at 6 a.m. Friday.
There is a detour in place that will take you onto eastbound I-69.
