SAGINAW COUNTY (WJRT) - (12/29/16) - After 18 years, Saginaw County 911 Director Tom McIntyre has officially retired.
The former Saginaw County sheriff spent his final day on the job Thursday, celebrating with co-workers, friends and family.
The 67-year-old McIntyre will officially retire on Saturday, handing off the reigns to Saginaw County Sheriff's Lieutenant Randy Pfau.
McIntyre said he was grateful to have been able to serve Saginaw County for so many years.
"I love the people, I love the interaction with the people and stuff and whatever, but there is a place and time to hand it over and I think Randy Pfau is the right person to hand it off to and I think the timing is right,” McIntyre said.
McIntyre also got a tasty treat from our very own Angie Hendershot. She promised to deliver doughnuts 20 years ago, when he was sheriff.
