Star Wars fans flocking to theaters for "The Last Jedi" premier

GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP (WJRT) (12/15/2017) - Star Wars fans are geeked about the the latest installment in the immensely popular sci-fi series and flocking to theaters this weekend to take it in.

"The Last Jedi" opened to packed theaters Thursday. Long lines were reported at Trillium Theaters in Grand Blanc Township all afternoon as fans waited for the first showing at 6 p.m.

Tickets for showings all weekend are going fast too. Fandango says "The Last Jedi" tickets have outsold any other movie on Fandango this year.

This weekend alone, the movie is expected to rake in more than $200 million.

Critics were raving about "The Last Jedi" and how it advances the storyline of previous Star Wars films.
