Authorities identify disabled veteran killled in Richfield Township fire

RICHFIELD TOWNSHIP (WJRT) - (12/8/2017) - Richfield Township police have identified a man killed in a house fire.

Investigators say 69-year-old Hubert Hensley died Thursday afternoon when his home on East Mt. Morris Road near Irish Road caught fire.

Police say the house was engulfed in flames when the Davison-Richfield Fire Department arrived. Hensley's wife and adult son both received burns trying to rescue him from the fire.

Hensley's family said he was a disabled veteran who used a walker.

A fire marshal visited the scene Thursday evening while firefighters were still working to extinguish the last bits of fire to begin the investigation. There was no word on a cause or origin of the fire on Friday.
