Water distribution continues in Flint despite frosty temperatures

FLINT (WJRT) (1/5/2017) - Workers continued passing out bottled water Friday despite frigid temperatures.

Workers, volunteers and those picking up water bundled up the best they could.

Mid-Michigan was under a Wind Chill Warning on Friday morning, which had expired by noon. But actual air temperatures remained in the low single digits.

Workers at the PODS water distribution site on Dort Highway were clad in multiple layers to stay warm. They were rotating crews in and out of a warm semi trailer and drinking hot beverages.

Flint's four water distribution stations will be open until 6 p.m. Friday. Workers are taking steps to keep the water from freezing before they hand it out.

Workers were having trouble with some of the hydraulic pallet jacks getting too cold and failing.
