HOLLY (WJRT) - (10/19/15) - Students from Holly High School are trying to make a difference for Flint students, as it'll still be a few weeks until all parts of the city have access to safe drinking water.
With that in mind, Holly students were hard at work Monday morning.
They made the rounds in Flint, delivering cases of bottled water to several spots, including Richfield Public School Academy and St. John's Vianney.
Over the last week or so, Holly students managed to raise $1,000. That allowed them to buy and collect more than 11,000 bottles of water to donate.
"Helping people is one of our main focuses and just knowing that younger, elementary students are going to be helped with this and that they'll be able to drink water during the day instead of going all day without drinking, it's something that we're really passionate about," said Sadie Kessler, Holly High School student.
Kroger, Meijer and College Hunks Hauling Junk all had a hand in helping Holly students in their effort.
