FLINT (WJRT) - (10/02/15) - City leaders and Virginia Tech investigators say it will help to run your water for five minutes before using it to reduce the concentration of lead.
But how much water will that waste, and what is it going to cost you?
ABC12's Kevin Goff filled buckets for us so we could see for ourselves how much water will run in five minutes.
The city of Flint says depending on how fast your water comes out, the amount of water is going to vary.
On average, 15 gallons of water will come out of a faucet in five minutes.
The city says running off that amount of water will cost you 2 cents.
