FLINT (WJRT) - (10/04/16) - It's the first full week of October - a time to "think pink”.
With that, the MTA's brand new breast cancer awareness month bus is now on the road.
It's the big pink bus that's been turning heads as it rolls across Genesee County.
Dozens of MTA Flint employees turned out for an early morning launch on Tuesday.
It's a cause that's near and dear to the MTA's heart. In fact, several staff members and their family members are survivors.
"It's all about awareness and recognizing and honoring those who have been affected by cancer and also for those in memory of those who have been lost,” said Ed Benning, MTA general manager and CEO.
Saturday is the kickoff for the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events.
Walks are scheduled for both Flint and Saginaw, with another happening in Midland on Oct. 15.
