HARTLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - (05/28/15) - A Livingston County pastor has taken his passion for Scotch whisky and turned it into a book.
The Livingston Daily Press & Argus reports (http://bit.ly/1AdGqG4 ) that the Rev. Christopher Thoma's book is titled "The Angels' Portion: A Clergyman's Whisky Narrative." It is a collection of Scotch whisky reviews that reads like a collection of short stories.
Thoma is the pastor at Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church and School in Hartland Township. He took entries from his whisky review blog, www.Angelsportion.com, and turned them into the 380-page book.
He says the reviews "tell stories, quote literature, dig into history," and capture moments with his four children and wife, Jennifer. He mixes in theology as well.
Thoma says he enjoys a good Scotch "in moderation, of course."
