ABC12 School Spirit - ABC 12 – WJRT – Flint, MI

ABC12 School Spirit

This year, students across Mid-Michigan helped ABC12 bring in close to 700,000 pounds of food to help the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan feed people in 22 counties.

School Spirit is all about showing off everything that makes your school a great place to be and demonstrating why you have the best school and community spirit in all of Mid-Michigan.

Every Friday morning the ABC12 Spirit Squad will visit a different Mid-Michigan high school or college for an early morning pep rally.  We'll broadcast our visit live during ABC12 News This Morning.

Bring in canned food and other non-perishable items.

In fact, bring your family, your neighbors and your friends. Some schools have even made this a district-wide and community-wide effort.

If you can't bring food, your dollars will go a long way. Each donated dollar buys nine pounds of food.

At the end of the year, the school that donated the most food will get to claim the ABC12 Spirit Cup trophy and keep it for one full year. Flint Central and North Branch shared the Spirit Cup championship for 2008-2009.  Carman-Ainsworth won the title for 2009-2010. Owosso was
the winner for 2010-2011. Flushing High School is the current champion for 2011-2012.
