BUENA VISTA TOWNSHIP (WJRT) -
(07/26/11) - An accident forced emergency crews to close down a portion of southbound I-75.
The accident happened just south of M-46 in Buena Vista Township in Saginaw County. All lanes are now open.
Police report a garbage truck rear-ended a semi and the two trucks traveled about 400 feet before coming to rest. The garbage truck caught fire and then the fire spread to the trailer of the semi.
The driver of the garbage truck was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. The driver of the semi was not hurt.
