(10/11/11) - Elementary students in the Bendle School District put some new shoes to good use.
The district's running and fitness club started up again this week.
With the help of some fundraising and local athletic store "The Complete Runner," teachers are making sure all children have the right footwear.
"So we just want to make sure they're actually here wearing a proper pair of shoes to run in, so they're not, you know, falling out of sandals or whatever. What we're going to do today is, let's just say a kid wears a size 2 shoe, we're going to make it a size 3 so they can actually have a chance to actually wear, 'cause they grow so fast, we're going to make sure they're going to have a size bigger so they can have some time to run into them," said Marilyn Shaski of South Bendle Elementary.
The school's running and fitness club meets twice a week for about an hour.
